Abstract

The constructive program of Mahatma Gandhi for sustainable rural development in Andhra Pradesh embodies the values of environmental care, community empowerment, and self-reliance. This essay examines Gandhi's philosophy, highlighting the promotion of local industries like khadi, decentralized administration through Panchayati Raj organizations, and sustainable agricultural methods. Gandhi believed that villages were self-sufficient communities that could help poor people, safeguard cultural legacy, and answer the needs of the people who lived there. His ideas are still used in programs in Andhra Pradesh that try to make rural communities more fair, self-sufficient, and good for the environment
